Vivienne Coen B.A., GradDip. PsychAn., M.A. (Psychoanalysis with a Clinical Specialisation).

Vivienne began her studies reading for a degree in English Literature and Philosophy which was awarded by University College Dublin in 2002. After graduation she worked as an English language teacher in Paris, France, where she taught nationalities from all over the world. She speaks a fluent level of French. In 2005 she began to study the psychological disciplines of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in detail and undertook her own personal analysis. As well as working in private practice, Vivienne has experience working in a number of mental health facilities including the psychiatric departments of St. Vincent’s Hospital Elm Park, Holles Street National Maternity Hospital, and Trinity Court Drug Treatment Centre. She holds a Masters Degree in Psychoanalysis with a Clinical Specialisation and received first class honours for her thesis on Freud’s Rat Man case (which deals with a severe case of obsessive compulsive disorder). Her areas of interest include the addictions, mental health in teenagers, depressive disorders, language and signification (meaning), ante and post natal psychology, and the psychoanalysis of obsessive compulsive disorder which she plans to research further in a doctoral thesis. Vivienne specialises in Freudian and Lacanian Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She is a registered member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (http://www.psychotherapycouncil.ie) and the Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland. She adheres to the ethos, practice, and code of ethics of both organisations.

 

Emmet Mallon B.A., GradDip. PsychAn., M.A. (Psychoanalysis with a Clinical Specialisation).

Emmet specialises in Freudian and Lacanian Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and holds a Masters degree in Psychoanalysis with a Clinical Specialisation which was awarded to him in 2008. He completed his PhD in Psychopathy in 2016 in Dublin City University. As well as working in private practice, Emmet has worked for various mental health services including psychiatric services for St. Vincent's Hospital Elm Park, The Mater Hospital, and Navan Hospital. He has also conducted research for the Irish Arm of the European Autism Counts Prevalence Study, and worked as a lecturer and supervisor on both the Masters and Clinical Doctorate Psychotherapy programmes in Dublin City University. He is a member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and a registered practitioner member of the Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland.
